At the time of their 45th reunion, the Edward Little class of 1951 initiated the Don Gay Scholarship Fund as an ongoing project, with a plan to make the first award in 2001, the year of their 50th reunion.
The scholarship is to be awarded to a graduating senior who has distinguished him or herself in the area of music or the arts. The award or awards will be announced at the students graduation, but will actually be awarded upon successful completion of the freshman year.
Since 1996 other classes have made donations to this fund at their reunions. The fund is now in excess of $40,000.
